Lillian Copeland, oboe


Oboist Lillian Copeland is a sought-after New York City freelancer who plays with the Metropolitan Opera Orchestra, American Ballet Theatre, Orpheus Chamber Orchestra, The Knights, and the New Jersey Symphony Orchestra, among others. She currently holds the position of principal oboe with the Princeton Symphony Orchestra, Northeastern Philharmonic Orchestra, and the Cabrillo Festival of Contemporary Music in Santa Cruz, CA. 

Lillian formerly spent eight seasons in Chile as Principal Oboe with the Santiago Philharmonic Orchestra. While in Chile, Lillian performed twice as a concerto soloist, toured the country with her woodwind quintet, and premiered new works at the annual Contemporary Music Festival in Santiago. 

An avid proponent of music education, she is on faculty at The Juilliard School’s Music Advancement Program (MAP), Mannes Prep, the Manhattan School of Music Pre-College division, and maintains a private teaching studio.
