Jennifer Ahn, Violin
Jennifer Ahn is an Omaha-raised, NYC-based violinist whose dynamic career has taken her across North America, Europe, and Asia. With a passion for performance, she has appeared internationally at venues including Carnegie Hall, Suntory Hall, Kitara Hall, the Holland Performing Arts Center, and the Athens Conservatoire.
She made her solo debut with the Omaha Symphony at age 11 and has since performed with the Lincoln, Kearney, and Hastings Symphonies; the Ottawa Chamber Symphony; and the Manhattan School of Music Chamber Orchestra. Most recently, she appeared as guest soloist with the New York Youth Symphony during its 2024 summer tour to Greece.
An engaging and enthusiastic artist, Ms. Ahn has been featured in the Manhattan School of Music’s Centennial Celebration Concert Series, the Chamber Music Society at Lincoln Center, and the Seven Hills Chamber Music Festival. She has also performed with the New York Classical Players, the Princeton Symphony, and Symphony in C. Her festival appearances include summers at the Brian Lewis Young Artist Program, the Heifetz Institute, the Pacific Music Festival, and the Music Academy of the West, where she was named a winner of the inaugural Duo Competition.
Her passion for music blossomed at the Omaha Conservatory of Music (OCoM), where she studied with Ruth Meints and served as an assistant teacher for the String Sprouts program. She went on to earn both her Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees from the Manhattan School of Music, studying with PinchasZukerman and Patinka Kopec, while also serving as a teaching assistant. She has been mentored by Brian Lewis, Shmuel Ashkenasi, Simon James, and many others who have inspired her along the way.
Ms. Ahn’s commitment to music education is reflected in her work as a Teaching Artist with the New York Pops’ PopsEd program and through her private teaching studios across New York City. She has also served as a guest artist-faculty member at the Omaha Conservatory of Music. Recognized as an OCoM Notable Alumna, she remains deeply connected to the Omaha music community, frequently returning for both performance and teaching engagements.
