ACMF Up/CLose: a special event for early donors
Be among the first to support our 2017 season and get even more ACMF magic! On May 20th, we're hosting a very special fundraising house concert for our early supporters. This private event will feature ACMF musicians performing solo and ensemble music in an intimate house party setting. You'll enjoy libations and refreshments as we present specially curated programs of music that will not be part of our summer series. Our musicians will be there to talk about the music, answer all of your questions and get to know you better!
Featured music
the chamber music of J.S. Bach
It is often said that no composer in the history of music could write solo instrumental music as well as J.S. Bach. Using only a single thread, his solo compositions weave an incredible tapestry of sound. Together we'll explore the world Bach creates through his music for ensemble and for solo instrument.
Violin Partita no. 3 in E major: Preludium, Gavotte en Rondeau
Cello Suite no. 6: Sarabande and Gigue
Flute Sonata in E major
Mozart and his teacher
The ties that bind Mozart and Haydn constitute arguably the most famous teacher-student relationship in the history of music. Although sharing many similarities in style and form, their respective works are animated by a spirit totally individual in nature. In this set, we'll enjoy a poignant Mozart sonata played by our own Shea/Kim duo, followed by a fiery, feisty Haydn rejoinder.
Mozart: Sonata for Violin and Piano in E minor
Haydn: "Gypsy" trio, finale
